To customize a folder icon in XP:
Right-click the folder, and then click "Properties". On the "Customize" tab, click "Change icon". In the "Change Icon" dialog box, click "Browse", navigate to the new icon you want to use, select it, and then click "Open". Click "OK", and then click "OK" again to apply the change.
In Windows 98 and Windows ME, although you cannot customize a folder icon, you can customize a file icon:
Open any folder on your desktop. Under "Tools" choose "Folder Options". Click "File Types" to select the type of files you want to customise. Then click "Advanced" and select "Change Icon". In the "Change Icon" dialog box, click "Browse", navigate to the new icon you want to use, select it, and then click "Open". Click "OK", and then click "OK" again to apply the change. |
